Argentine tennis player Solana Sierra won a tournament in Cancun

The Argentine tennis player Solana Sierra won the women’s W15 contest that took place in the city of Cancun, Mexico, by defeating the Chinese Jiangxue Han in the final in three sets.

The player from Mar del Plata, 18 years old and located 550 in the WTA world ranking, prevailed in the decisive match over Han (744), with partials of 2-6, 6-3 and 7-6, by taking advantage of the fourth ‘match point ‘ which he had.

In this way, the Buenos Aires tennis player won her first title in the 2022 season in this type of event organized by the International Federation (ITF), after having been a finalist last March in Palmanova (Spain), when she fell in the definition against the local Maristany Zuleta de Reales.

To access the crown, Sierra, who is part of the women’s team that participated in the last Billie Jean King Cup, successively beat the American Rushri Wijesundera (760), her compatriot Melany Krywoj (1017), the Moldovan Abigail Rencheli (1596), the German Jantje Tilbuerger (798) and the Chinese Han, who snatched the only set that the champion lost in this contest.
