Apple prepares to cut off access to vital services on these iPhones, iPads and more

Planned obsolescence occurs when a company stops supporting some of its products, giving the image that they are outdated or obsolete. This is something that Apple will be able to do again, judging by the now advanced data.

According to a new rumor, the American technology company is preparing to cut off access to its main services in some of its less recent products. A decision that will enter into force in May.

Starting in early May, access to Apple services, with the exception of iCloud, will stop working on devices running:- iOS 11-11.2.6- macOS 10.13-10.13.3- watchOS 4-4.2.3- tvOS 11-11.2. 6You will probably receive a notification asking you to update

Several Apple services will stop working on several brand products from May

This information is advanced by Stella – Fudge, which has already been proven correct on other Apple issues in the past. It claims that several iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watch and Apple TV will stop supporting the company’s services starting next month.

This end of support will apply to products running the following versions of Apple software:

  • iOS 11.2.6
  • macOS 10.13 to 10.13.3
  • watchOS 4 up to 4.2.3
  • tvOS 11 up to 11.2.6

Apple computers running these versions of the respective operating systems will no longer support major Apple services. The only exception will be iCloud.

Apple should notify users affected by this measure, urging them to update their software to the latest version whenever possible. When this is not the case, the solution will be to purchase a more recent model.

The reasons that will lead Apple to take this measure are still to be clarified. However, some trade publications theorize that this is due to the introduction of new features that will not work as expected in these versions of their software.

This decision by the American technology company is not enough of an outburst. Last month, Apple released documents revealing that some versions of its software will no longer support services like the App Store, Siri, or even Maps.

If this information is verified, the number of affected devices should be reduced. According to data released by Tech in February, only 8% of the world’s active iPhones were running iOS 14 or below.
