The Sandbox’s parent company, Animoca Brands, has added the game company ‘Eden Games’ to its portfolio added† This is the publisher of popular racing games, including Gear.Club.
MMORPG Life Beyond
With this acquisition, Animoca hopes its REVV Motorsport ecosystem of blockchain-based racing games will improve on Polygon. Earlier this week, Animoca announced that it will take over the company ‘Darewise Entertainment’. This is a game studio based in Paris that was founded by former Ubisoft executives and other veterans of the AAA game industry. A fair amount is expected of the company with this.
Currently, Darewise is developing a new Play-to-Earn (P2E) Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, otherwise known as an MMORPG. The MMORPG has been given the name Life Beyond. The MMORPG Life Beyond is about a battle-ridden alien planet being developed on Unreal Engine. Currently, the video game is in a closed alpha version.
Animoca Brands reportedly agreed to take a 70% stake in Darewise Entertainment. Yat Siu, the co-founder and chairman of Animoca Brands, outlined some of the reasons for the acquisition in a Twitter thread.

Betting on MMORPG video games
Recently, Animoca Brands, together with the investment company called ‘Mechanism Capital’, led a $5 million (€4.62) million seed round for the P2E mobile video game ‘Blast Royale’. The developer behind this, First Light Games, has also developed some other well-known games such as Monument Valley, Fable, Street Fighter and Tomb Raider. All in all, Animoca Brands is investing heavily in blockchain-related (MMORPOG) video games.
On Thursday, Darewise announced via Twitter that it had purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club Non-Fungible Token (NFT) named Franck. However, the details of the “support” for BAYC members and ApeCoin assistance have not yet been disclosed.
