Sad news broke for cricket lovers on Sunday morning: former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds has died at the age of 46. According to media reports, Andrew Symonds was killed in a car accident in Townsville on Saturday night. Local police said Symonds was seriously injured in the crash. Symonds is survived by his wife Laura and his two young children, Chloe and Billy.

Symonds’ wife said in a conversation with the Australian media that she is completely shocked and only thinks of two children. She paid tribute to Symonds, saying that she was “a very simple person and always had time for everyone”.

Symonds, who was the greatest all-rounder in world cricket, played his first career international against Pakistan in November 1998. He did not get a chance to bat in this ODI match. At the same time he bowled 2 overs and did not take any wickets. Following this, Symonds was exhausted after scoring 8 runs in his second career ODI. But his bat ran in Game 3.
