Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, 80, was injured while filming a movie in South India and is currently recovering at home.
Bachchan posted on his blog on Sunday night that he suffered a rib injury while working in Hyderabad on the movie ‘Project K’. The latest production is being done in Hindi and Telugu languages and is scheduled for release in 2024.
The actor wrote that he had damaged rib cartilage and a muscle tear. He called the injury “painful” and consulted a doctor before flying to his home in Mumbai, where he was advised to rest.
Bachchan will return to work on the film when he has recovered.
It was not the first time that the actor was injured on a film set. In 1983, during a fight scene on the set of “Coolie,” he was badly injured in an accident and was pronounced “clinically dead.” People across India spent days in public prayer. He eventually recovered and finished the movie.
