Ameesha Patel on Dharmendra: Didn’t Contact Family For Privacy

Amisha Patel has clarified why she has not yet contacted the family of late Bollywood legend Dharmendra. The veteran actor passed away on November 24 at his Mumbai home at the age of 89.

Patel stated she chose to give them space during this difficult time. She emphasized that the family is already overwhelmed with visitors and calls.

Speaking to News18, Patel said, “I have not spoken to the family yet. I don’t want to bother them.” She added, “They need privacy to deal with this situation.”

She expressed her intent to visit them personally upon her return to Mumbai. This demonstrates her respect for their mourning period.

Patel, who shared a close bond with Dharmendra, did not attend his funeral. However, she had visited him earlier when he was hospitalized.

She described that hospital visit as a “very difficult time.” Dharmendra’s condition was critical at that point.

During that visit, Patel was joined by Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. They briefly offered support to Sunny Deol, who was deeply affected by his father’s illness.

Dharmendra’s funeral saw a large turnout of Bollywood stars. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan were among those present at the Pawan Hans crematorium.

Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Zayed Khan also attended the final rites. They joined the grieving family members.
