Amazon is rolling out a new immersive shopping experience called Amazon Anywhere. This service brings the online market to video games or mobile applications. Thus, the company is expanding the fun within virtual worlds and interactive digital environments.
With Amazon Anywhere, the company will enable users of gaming, mobile and augmented reality applications to discover and purchase physical products in Amazon stores without ever leaving the game or application. In this way, the first launch of Amazon Anywhere can be experienced inside Peridot. This is a new real world augmented reality game from Niantic (the creators of Pokémon Go). The game features unique virtual pets powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Also, it is now available on iOS and Android devices.
How does Amazon Anywhere work?
Amazon Anywhere helps bring the magic of Peridot from augmented reality to reality with an engaging physical in-game merchandise store. First you have to link the Amazon account to Peridot. Peridot-branded merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, phone accessories, and cushions featuring artwork of magical creatures from the game will be on display. On the other hand, you will be able to see familiar product details, images, availability, Prime eligibility, price, and estimated delivery date.
Once the buy button is selected, payment can be made using the linked Amazon account without exiting the game. The products will be shipped like any other purchase on the platform. In addition, orders can be tracked and managed through the application.
