Amazon is gearing up for its biggest shopping event yet – Prime Day 2025. Set to take place next July, this global extravaganza promises exclusive deals for Prime members across all product categories. The company is banking on its proven track record, having smashed sales records worldwide in 2024. During the 48-hour event, Prime customers snapped up more products than ever before, saving billions globally. Small and medium-sized businesses also reaped the benefits, selling over 200 million products.
Fast and Free Shipping
Amazon’s shipping game is strong. In 2024, the company delivered over 9 billion items on the same day or the next, with Prime customers saving around $95 billion on shipping costs. In Spain alone, more than 160 million products were delivered in record time, marking a 10% increase from the previous year. Spanish Prime customers saved an average of over €115 on fast shipping, more than double their annual Prime subscription cost.
A Global Affair
Prime Day 2025 is going global, with over 20 countries participating, including Spain, Germany, the US, Mexico, Japan, France, Brazil, Italy, and newcomer Ireland. Irish customers can access the deals on amazon.ie. To celebrate, Amazon is hosting “Las Fiestas Prime Day” – a free, family-friendly event featuring live music, games, and activities.
Finding a Host Town
Amazon has launched “Amazon busca pueblo” (Amazon seeks town), a contest to find the Spanish town that will host this year’s celebration. Interested towns can enter by May 8 by sharing a video on social media with the hashtag #Amazonbuscapueblo and tagging @AmazonEspana. The winning town will be announced on May 20 and will be the star of this special Prime Day edition. Last year’s winner, Medinaceli, set a Guinness World Record for the largest brass band in the world. This year’s event aims to recognize and showcase the cultural richness of traditional Spanish town festivals.
