Alverca football club has been busy, quietly bringing in some fresh talent. They recently confirmed two new faces joining their ranks. One is Kauan Gomes, a right-back who played for Maia Lidador before this move. The other is Abderrahmane Soumare, an 18-year-old midfielder. He arrives from the Nouakchott Academy Football in Mauritania. These moves show Alverca is always looking for new players.
Kauan Gomes, a 20-year-old Brazilian, has an interesting path. He spent time with big clubs like Cruzeiro and AtlĂ©tico Goianense back home. Most recently, he was playing in the Liga Pro of the AF Porto league during the 2024/2025 season. He’s already training with Alverca’s main team, getting a feel for things. Gomes shared his excitement, saying he was “very happy to represent an emblem full of history.”
Then there’s Abderrahmane Soumare, a promising young player. He comes from a respected academy in Mauritania, known for developing talent. Soumare is a versatile midfielder, able to play in several different roles across the middle of the pitch. His arrival adds a different flavor to the squad.
The plan for both Gomes and Soumare is to join the club’s B team. This squad competes in the Campeonato de Portugal. It’s a smart move, allowing them to adapt, grow, and show what they can do in a competitive league. It’s all part of building for Alverca’s future success.
