Alverca Plans Five Lineup Changes for Sporting Rematch

Portuguese club Alverca is set to deploy a significantly altered lineup for its upcoming Liga Betclic match against Sporting CP, aiming for a more competitive showing after a recent heavy cup loss.

Coach Custódio Castro plans at least five tactical changes for the league fixture. This strategic overhaul follows an Allianz Cup encounter last week, where Alverca suffered a 5-1 defeat to Sporting.

The previous cup match was largely impacted by the absence of eight key players due to injuries. The upcoming league game, which opens the 10th round of Liga Betclic, will feature several of these players returning.

Among the expected returns are André Gomes in goal, Sergi Gómez in central defense, and Nabil on the right flank. Alex Amorim is slated to rejoin the midfield, with Marezi leading the attack as center-forward.

Sandro Lima, who scored Alverca’s sole goal in the recent cup tie, could also feature as an alternative option upfront. The match is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 8:15 PM local time.
