Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the grain sent from Ukraine is going to European Union countries instead of reaching poor countries, the West is fueling the global food crisis.
He said this while addressing the officials of the agricultural sector of the country in a video conference. He has said that Russia has harvested 138 million tons of grain this year.
This amount is expected to reach 150 million tonnes by the end of the year. This will be a record amount in the history of Russia.
He said that in this way, in the current difficult situation, we will fully meet the country’s need and get an additional source for increasing exports.
Putin added that there are difficulties in the supply of Russian grain and fertilizers, and sanctions against Russia are exacerbating the global food crisis that has been going on for several years.
The Russian President said that we are going through the current situation due to the financial and food policies of some developed countries and all the responsibility lies with the West.
He has said that the supply of grain from Ukraine is not reaching the poor countries. Since September 23, 203 ships loaded with grain have departed from Ukrainian ports and only 4 of them have gone to poor countries.
President Vladimir Putin has said that the West is fueling the global food crisis. In these circumstances, we must ensure food security and reduce dependence on all imported resources including equipment, machinery and seeds.
