Season 16 of the tournament is played in IPL 2023. Season 16 has come to an end and this season’s tournament has two runner-up teams in the form of Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. The Gujarat and Chennai teams showed great consistency in the league matches of the season. Where the Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya topped the points table. Gujarat won 10 of 14 league games.
On the other hand, Chennai won 8 matches out of 14 and lost 5 while one match of the team was left unfinished. Through the current season finals, Chennai is playing its 10th final match. While Gujarat will be on the field for the second consecutive final in their second season. Gujarat won the title in IPL 2022 i.e. their debut season. Earlier, the Qualifier-1 match was played between Gujarat and Chennai, in which Chennai won by 15 runs.
The final match between Chennai and Gujarat will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m. Whereas, the draw will be launched at 7:00 pm Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium is the home ground of the Gujarat Titans.
The Qualifier-2 match played before the final match was also played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Mumbai Indians met Gujarat Titans in Qualifier-2, which Gujarat won by 62 runs. Gujarat reached the final only after defeating Mumbai.
So far 4 matches have been played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans out of which Gujarat have won 3 and Chennai have won 1 match. 4 games including 3 in the league and one in the playoff. Gujarat won all three league matches, while Chennai won the play-off.
The first league match of IPL 2023 was also played between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in which Gujarat won by 5 wickets.
There will be a closing ceremony at the stadium before the start of the final match. This ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm.
According to media reports, the team that wins the IPL 2023 final will receive a prize money of Rs 20 crore while the loser i.e. the runner-up will go home with Rs 13 crore.
