Sandy Alcantara allowed four hits in seven innings as the Miami Marlins beat the San Diego Padres 3-0 on Monday.
Although the Padres squeezed Alcantara with 76 pitches in the first four innings, the right-hander reached 17 starts with at least seven innings of work. Alcantara (11-5) walked two and struck out seven on 108 pitches.

Miami attacked Padres starter Joe Musgrove (6-8) early, with two runs in the second inning. Bleday led off the inning with a home run and Rojas followed with a single, advanced to third on Stallings’ hit and scored on Lewin Diaz’s sacrifice fly.
For the Marlins, Dominican Lewin Díaz 2-0 with an RBI. Venezuelans Miguel Rojas 4-3 with two runs scored; Jesus Aguilar 4-0.
For the Padres, the Dominicans Manny Machado 4-2; Juan Soto 3-0.
