Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al- Zawahiri killed : America claimed that it has killed Al-Qaeda leader Al-Zawahiri in a drone strike. This attack was done near Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Al-Zawahiri took over the leadership of the terrorist organization after the killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in 2011.
CIA special team took action
It is said that the special team of the US intelligence agency CIA carried out a drone attack to kill al-Zawahiri. Al Zawahiri had been living in Kabul since the Taliban government came to power in Afghanistan.

US President Joe Biden announced the death of al-Zawahiri in his address to the nation. He said- ‘We have found and killed Zawahiri. We will not let go of any threat that poses to America and its people.
Zawahiri was on the lookout after the 9/11 attacks
After the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 in America, America was looking for Osama bin and al-Zawahiri. The September 11, 2001 attacks are known as 9/11. 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes. Two of these planes hit the World Trade Center tower while one plane hit the Pentagon. Another plane had crashed. About 3 thousand people died in this attack. The US investigative agency blamed al-Qaeda for the attack.
Zawahiri had survived the US attack
Earlier also America had tried to kill Zawahiri but his plan could not succeed. In 2001, Zawahiri was reported to be hiding in Tora-Bora, Afghanistan, but Zawahiri had fled before the attack took place. At the same time, in the year 2006, the US intelligence agency laid a trap to kill al-Zawahiri. At that time it was reported that Zawahiri was hiding in Damdola area of Pakistan. But before the American attack, Zawahiri escaped from there.
