The Ministry of Agriculture ordered an increase of more than 17 million pesos for agricultural NGOs that work to strengthen agriculture and thus ensure the production of basic foods and food security in the Dominican Republic.
According to information, the Government, through the agricultural institution, has disposed of the total amount of RD$147,739,367 for those non-profit associations so that they face the increase in the prices of goods and services, while continuing with the successful execution of the projects they have underway.
The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, highlighted that, due to the good performance of twenty-two associations, which are up to date with their obligations in terms of account reports, they deserve to be supported even more.
The measure was taken by the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the National Center for the Development and Promotion of Non-Profit Associations (Casfl).
In the institution there are 38 associations regulated by the Casfl, which are dedicated to the production and export of fruits, coffee cultivation, food banks, among other agricultural activities.
