Vicky Kaushal’s film “Chhava” is presently making waves at the box office, with its story and the acting of the stars being widely discussed. The film has so far earned over 650 crore rupees worldwide. In the film, Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while actor Vinit Kumar Singh, who plays the role of Kavi Kalash, has managed to win the hearts of the audience. Recently, Vinit Kumar Singh spoke about the cruelty shown to Sambhaji Maharaj in the film.
Some people have also said that the film defames Aurangzeb and shows too much violence. When asked by RJ Raunak if he had properly read about Aurangzeb and Shivaji Sawant’s novel, Vinit Kumar Singh replied, “It’s not necessary that these are the only two options when it comes to ideology. I am an artist. My team consists of my hair and makeup team, my personal boy, driver, and manager. When I’m working, everyone is busy. I don’t have a team that can research a script for five years. If I get into that process, I think I’ll be able to make only five films in my life. I always assume that the director and producer have thought a lot about the film. I look for good work and want to be a part of good stories and work with good directors.”
He further added, “I see that the entire department is working hard to investigate and research the matter. Sometimes it takes years, and many times the results aren’t conclusive. As an actor, how much research can I do? For ‘Chhava’, I visited the samadhi of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Kavi Kalash before the film started. I spent time there, sat near the samadhi for a long time, and talked to many old people who told me many stories. You have only seen a part of the cruelty that happened.”
Vinit Kumar Singh also described the torture shown in the film, saying, “If you torture someone for more than a month, what do you think you’ll see if you shoot it? I’ve been a doctor, and I’ve seen people come to the emergency room with injuries, and when we clean their wounds with antiseptic, they scream in pain. Here, the body is being skinned, and salt is being applied to it. You can hear many stories and talk to people. I went to seek blessings so that I could do justice to my role as an actor. After that, I started my journey.”
He concluded by saying, “Once I say yes to a director and producer, I surrender. Now, whatever is written, I will work within that framework and make any necessary changes.” “Chhava” is currently doing well at the box office, earning 670 crore rupees worldwide in 22 days.
