Actor Satish Shah Had Kidney Transplant To Live For Ailing Wife, Friend Reveals

Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on Saturday at the age of 74, leaving the entertainment industry in mourning. Close friend and fellow actor Sachin Pilgaonkar has since revealed poignant details about Shah’s final years and health struggles.

Pilgaonkar disclosed that Shah underwent a kidney transplant primarily to extend his life for his wife, Madhu Shah, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Satish Shah’s devotion was a driving force in his battle with kidney illness.

The late actor had been battling kidney disease and was on dialysis. He had also undergone a successful bypass surgery previously, according to Pilgaonkar.

Satish Shah’s funeral took place on Sunday at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Numerous industry figures attended to pay their final respects, bidding farewell to the actor amid a grieving family.

Pilgaonkar recounted his last interaction with Shah, revealing he received a text message from him just hours before his passing. The message was sent at 12:56 PM, indicating Shah was seemingly well at that moment.

Pilgaonkar’s wife, Supriya Pilgaonkar, had also visited Shah at his home just three days before his death. Sachin Pilgaonkar expressed profound shock and deep personal loss at the news, emphasizing the magnitude of the void left by his friend.
