Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away due to a sudden heart attack, according to his close friend and co-star, Rajesh Kumar. This revelation corrects earlier widespread reports that cited kidney failure as the cause of death.
Bollywood has been in shock following the news of Shah’s passing, which emerged on October 25. Initial reports and social media speculation pointed towards complications from a kidney transplant or kidney failure.
However, Rajesh Kumar, who played Shah’s son in the popular series “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,” shared the accurate details in an interview with ‘Bollywood Hungama’. He clarified that Shah’s kidney transplant surgery had been completely successful.
Kumar stated, “Satish ji’s health was now under control. The kidney-related issue had been overcome. His condition was stable, but he passed away suddenly due to a heart attack.”
The actor reportedly collapsed while having lunch at his home after experiencing sudden chest pain. His health had been improving steadily after the successful transplant.
Shah had undergone the kidney transplant a few months prior. He often expressed a deep desire to live longer to care for his wife, Madhu Shah, who has been battling Alzheimer’s disease for an extended period.
Known for his indelible contributions to Indian entertainment, Satish Shah made a lasting mark with roles in beloved projects such as “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,” “Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi,” “Main Hoon Na,” and “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron.” Audiences cherished him for his impeccable comic timing, simplicity, and distinctive dialogue delivery.
The industry continues to mourn his loss. Rajesh Kumar emphasized the importance of correcting the record, stating, “This is sad, but people should know the truth that Satish ji’s death was not due to kidney failure but a heart attack.”
