Veteran Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s mother, Smt. Hemwanti Devi, passed away on Saturday at the age of 89. She breathed her last at her home in Belsand, located in the Gopalganj district of Bihar.
Smt. Hemwanti Devi had been unwell for some time. Tripathi was reportedly by his mother’s side during her final moments.
The Tripathi family released a statement confirming her peaceful passing. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Smt. Hemwanti Devi. She was 89 years old and had been unwell for some time. She passed away peacefully in her sleep amidst her family. Pankaj Tripathi was with her,” the statement read.
The family also appealed for privacy during this difficult time. They requested that everyone keep Smt. Hemwanti Devi in their prayers.
Her funeral was held on Saturday in Belsand. It was attended by close family members, relatives, and friends.
Pankaj Tripathi has often spoken fondly of his deep bond with his mother. He frequently credited her with instilling values of discipline, humility, and kindness.
