A criminal court in Egypt has sentenced student Muhammad Adil to death in the murder case of Al-Mansoura University student Naira Ashraf.
According to the report of the foreign news agency, the Al-Mansoura criminal court pronounced the death sentence yesterday and sent the case file to the Grand Mufti.
Public Prosecutor Hamada al-Sawi presented the case of the murder of an Egyptian university student in a criminal court 48 hours after the incident.
It may be recalled that a student of Al-Mansoura University had stabbed his classmate to death for refusing a marriage proposal.
The incident took place last Monday in front of Mansoura University’s Faculty of Arts, where a young man attacked his classmate with a knife.
According to eyewitnesses, the young man is a third-year art student. He attacked the student as she was walking to the bus stop to go home.
The student was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but died on the way.
