Abinader delivers highway in Santiago for RD$251 million

President Luis Abinader began his tour of Santiago, handing over, through the Ministry of Public Works, the Juan Veras-Los Higos-Palo Alto highway, with an investment that exceeds 251 million pesos with a length of about 9 kilometers.

President Abinader, in the inaugural act of the road, said that he respects the community members who fight for social demands, and called for them to continue demanding the works and solutions to problems in their communities.

He said that the more united these communities are demanding these works, the better those communities are doing.

Minister Designe Ascención stated that the Juan Veras-Los Higos-Palo Alto highway will bring development to these communities.

“For me it is a moment of great satisfaction to have the opportunity to accompany President Luis Abinader to this city of Santiago to formally hand over the Juan Vera-Higo de Agua-Palo Alto highway,” he said.

Ascención indicated that the work is part of the access road circuit to the city of Santiago, at the interconnection with the highways that lead to Puerto Plata, the Circunvalación Norte and other peripheral municipalities.

He said that the highway that the president delivered has been built at a cost of 251 million 449 thousand pesos, by the company Ingeniería Estrella, which in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works has worked to provide Santiago with interconnections, expanding the original scope of the contract through which the Tourist Highway, which leads to Puerto Plata and the other beach hotel centers on the north coast, was fully rehabilitated.

The blessing was in charge of the parish priest Nino Ramos, from the Santa Rosa de Lima parish, who thanked the president since the work has been a request that the residents of these communities nestled in the northern mountain range had for more than 20 years.

Present at the activity were Rosa Santos, governor of the province of Santiago; Eduardo Estrella, president of the Senate; Alexis Sosa, Regional Director of Public Works, representatives Francisco Francisco Díaz and Soraya Suárez, and Andrés Cueto, director of Edenorte.

Others who were present were Ulises Rodríguez and the director of Coraasan, Andrés Burgos.

Edenorte delivers works

President Luis Abinader also led the inauguration of several electrical works developed by Edenorte Dominicana SA in this sector, with an investment of RD$66 million.

The works that range from rehabilitation, readjustment and lighting, will benefit 1,580 families residing in San Miguel I and II, Villa Hermosa, Los Solares, La Bendición Arriba, La Bendición Abajo, among others.

During the activity carried out in the low roof of Cienfuegos, the general manager of Edenorte Dominicana, engineer Andrés Cueto, said that these projects constitute a significant change for the residents of this area, who as of yesterday will be able to lead a calmer life knowing that They will be able to carry out their commercial and domestic activities without setbacks thanks to a quality power system and without interruptions.

“We take advantage of the presence of our president Luis Abinader to thank him on behalf of the communities that today enjoy a quality electrical system, which means well-being and development, all thanks to his vision,” said the official.

He reported that for the execution of these projects, the technicians of the Edenorte electricity company used 375 poles, 347 luminaires, 43 transformers and 24 kilometers of medium and low voltage networks.

Present at the event were the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, political leaders, representatives of the communities of the municipal district of Santiago Oeste.
