Abhishek Sharma Celebrates Century with Special Note for Orange Army Fans in IPL Match

Abhishek Sharma smashed 141 runs off 55 balls, powering SunRisers Hyderabad to victory against Punjab Kings. His knock included 10 sixes and 14 fours. This is the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in the IPL, breaking KL Rahul’s record of 132.

A Special Celebration

After hitting his century, Abhishek pulled out a note from his pocket. It read, “This One is For Orange Army,” dedicating his performance to SRH fans. He revealed that writing down thoughts is a habit of his. “I usually wake up and write something. Today, I felt it was my day,” he said.

Abhishek’s century came off just 40 balls, the second-fastest by SRH, behind Travis Head’s 39-ball effort. His opening stand with Head yielded 171 runs, making the target of 246 look manageable. Abhishek’s impressive form earned him the Man of the Match award.

Family Support

Abhishek’s parents were in the stands, a sight he had been eagerly waiting for. “I was waiting for them. The whole team was waiting because they’re lucky for SRH,” he said. Despite a tough patch in the last four matches, SRH maintained a positive team environment.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer approached Abhishek after his celebration, curious about the note. Abhishek’s innings was a standout moment in the match, and his dedication to the fans was clear. With this performance, Abhishek Sharma has proven himself to be a key player for SRH.
