Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par Faces Boycott Calls Over Silence on India-Pakistan Conflict

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is set to make a comeback with his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par. However, the movie has hit a rough patch even before its release. The trailer had barely been out for a few hours when it started trending on X (formerly Twitter), but not for the right reasons. Many users on the platform are calling for a boycott of the film.

The Backlash Against Aamir Khan

The controversy began when Aamir Khan Productions shared a post about Operation Sindoor, praising the bravery of the Indian armed forces. However, many people took to social media to accuse Aamir Khan of remaining silent during the India-Pakistan tensions. Some users also alleged that he was using the post to promote his upcoming film.

One user on X wrote, “Aamir Khan made a show called SatyamEv Jayate and ended up being the very person he criticized on his show. He can’t say a word for his country and soldiers because it might affect his upcoming movie. Now’s the time people need to boycott Sitare Zameen Par.”

An Old Clip Resurfaces

The backlash intensified when an old clip of Aamir Khan surfaced online, showing him with Turkey’s First Lady Emine ErdoÄŸan. This particular photo had been controversial in the past as well. Another user on X commented, “Aamir Khan didn’t post about the Pahalgam attack, so it’s time for a boycott of his upcoming movie Sitare Zameen Par, just like the successful boycott of Turkey Tourism. Aamir visited Turkey and met the Turkish President and his wife. Turkey supported Pakistan.”

The India-Pakistan Conflict

The tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. In response, the Indian armed forces launched a counter-attack, targeting nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This operation was dubbed “Operation Sindoor.” Aamir Khan’s production house took to social media to praise the heroes of Operation Sindoor, saying, “Salute to the heroes of Operation Sindoor. We thank our armed forces for their courage, bravery, and unwavering commitment to securing our nation. Thanks to the Honorable Prime Minister for his leadership and determination. Jai Hind.”

The social media backlash against Aamir Khan and his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par continues to gain momentum, with many users calling for a boycott.
