Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par, which hits theaters on June 20. The movie’s screening was held on Thursday night, attended by several industry stars.
Aamir has been actively promoting Sitaare Zameen Par, and during this time, he shared some exciting news about the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna. The beloved comedy film, which originally released in 1994, is potentially getting a sequel.
A Script in the Works
Aamir spoke with Bollywood Hungama about the status of Andaz Apna Apna 2. He revealed that director Rajkumar Santoshi is working on a script for the sequel. However, Aamir emphasized that the project is still in its early stages. “We need to see the script and approve it before we can move forward,” he said. Aamir and Salman Khan, the film’s lead stars, will have to give their thumbs up before production can begin.
The original Andaz Apna Apna, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starred Aamir Khan and Salman Khan alongside Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Shakti Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal. The romantic comedy drama became a cult favorite and was re-released in theaters on April 25, nearly 31 years after its initial release. The re-release was a hit with audiences, who once again fell in love with the film.
Aamir is hopeful that Rajkumar Santoshi will come up with a good script for the sequel. While there’s no concrete news on Andaz Apna Apna 2 yet, fans are eagerly awaiting an update on the project.
