Shahid Kapoor: Faced Early Hardship, Refused Star Kid Privilege

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor recently shared candid details about his life journey. He revealed facing significant personal challenges from a very young age. Kapoor also emphasized that he never received special benefits from being a “star kid” in the industry.

He stated that his current standing in Bollywood is solely due to his hard work. Kapoor made these comments during a recent podcast interview.

His parents, Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, divorced when he was just three or four years old. He discussed this on the Punjab First Voice podcast. Following the divorce, he lived with his mother.

Kapoor explained that he spent little time with his father during his childhood. As a result, many people in the film industry were unaware that he was the son of actor Pankaj Kapoor.

He affirmed that he never leveraged his father’s name for career advantages. Kapoor neither sought assistance from his father nor did his father ever intervene to help him secure roles. His mother, Neelima Azeem, raised him single-handedly.

Today, Shahid Kapoor is a prominent Bollywood figure. He is married to Mira Rajput and has two children, a daughter and a son. Kapoor expressed that he prefers to leave his work at the office.

He enjoys returning home to be just a father, husband, and son.
