A former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper has revealed an unusual personal habit of global football superstar Neymar, attributing it to the Brazilian forward’s claustrophobia.
Alexandre Letellier, who retired from football in October, shared the anecdote during an interview with French newspaper L’Équipe.
Letellier recounted an incident at the club’s Camp des Loges training complex where he saw Neymar in a bathroom with the door wide open.
“I went to the bathroom and saw Neymar sitting on the toilet, but with the door open,” Letellier stated, expressing his initial confusion.
Another former PSG teammate, Abdou Diallo, then explained that Neymar’s practice was due to claustrophobia.
Diallo reportedly told Letellier that Neymar “never locks the door, he always leaves it open” because of the condition.
Letellier was a teammate of Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain for three seasons, from the 2020-2021 season through 2022-2023.
