New details have emerged regarding the death of Oscar-nominated actress Diane Ladd at 89. Her cause of death was acute-on-chronic hypoxic respiratory failure, according to a death certificate obtained by People magazine.
Conditions contributing to Ladd’s passing included interstitial lung disease, which had been present for years. Esophageal dysmotility was also listed as another contributing factor.
Ladd was cremated on November 10, the outlet reported.
The news of Ladd’s death first broke on November 3. Her daughter, actress Laura Dern, shared a tribute at that time with The Hollywood Reporter.
Dern, 58, stated that her "incredible hero and the immense gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me by her side this morning, in her Ojai, California home." She continued, "She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actor, artist, and compassionate soul only dreams could have created. We were so lucky to have her. She’s flying with her angels now."
