Many phone makers are now focused on building phones with massive batteries. This trend is especially strong in the mid-range market. We saw several smartphones launch in early 2025 with huge 7,000 mAh batteries. Then, Honor stepped up with its X70 phone in mid-July 2025. It packed an even larger 8,300 mAh battery.
Now, a well-known Chinese tech insider hints at something even bigger. Digital Chat Station, posting on the social media platform Weibo, shared some insider news. They claim certain phone makers are testing mid-range phones with a huge 10,000 mAh battery. These devices are set to arrive in 2026.
What’s surprising is how thin these devices will be. Sources say they’ll measure less than 8.5 millimeters. That’s slimmer than many phones out there today.
Digital Chat Station recently updated their report. One phone with that massive 10,000 mAh battery has entered NPI. NPI stands for New Product Introduction. This first stage involves developing the phone’s basic idea. Later, it moves through design, testing, checking, trial production, and finally, official launch. The insider didn’t name the specific phone model. But many signs point to it being the Honor Power 2.

Honor isn’t new to big batteries. The brand takes this goal seriously. They launched the first phone in their Power series in April 2025. That device, simply called Honor Power, featured an 8,000 mAh Qinghai Lake battery.
This special battery cell uses advanced technology. It has over 10% more silicon than usual. Its energy density hits 821 Wh/L. This lets Honor pack more power without making the battery too bulky.
The original Honor Power also offers great features. It has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. This display boasts 1224 x 2700 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It can get super bright, up to 4,000 nits. Powering it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, running at 2.63 GHz. Users can get up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Its main camera is a sharp 50 MP sensor. The starting price for this model was 1,999 Yuan.
We expect Honor to officially launch the Power 2, with its huge 10,000 mAh battery, in early 2026. This would set a new standard for phone longevity.
