The scent of a new season is in the air, bringing with it the familiar hum of ambition and fresh starts. Coaches are setting their targets. Players are returning or finding new homes. This time of year is always about what comes next, and the pursuit of trophies.
At Sporting, the message from coach Nuno Dias is clear. He recently marked the beginning of pre-season training for his squad. Dias, 52, did not shy away from the weight of expectation. “This year, we can’t just say we need to keep winning,” he stated firmly. “Instead, we have to say we need to win again. That effort starts right now, and every person here will be vital.” His focus is laser-sharp on recapturing the championship title.
Among the new faces donning the green and white kit, the return of winger Bruno Pinto stands out. The 31-year-old has come back to Portugal. He spoke about this moment with genuine emotion. “I had pictured this for a long, long time,” Pinto explained. “As players, we always want to play for the best clubs in the world… and Sporting CP is definitely one of them.” Pinto has a history with a rival club, having played for Benfica from 2013 to 2020. His return adds a compelling personal story to Sporting’s new campaign.
Sp. Braga Adds Turé
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the football world, Sporting Clube de Braga has made its first significant move for the 2025/26 season. Mamadú Turé, a 26-year-old Portuguese international winger, is their new signing. Turé joins Braga after spending three seasons with Leões de Porto Salvo. He expressed his delight to the club’s media. “I am very happy to join Sp. Braga,” Turé shared. “It fulfills a career dream to play for a big club like this. It’s a club that has everything needed to fight for titles.”
Turé also highlighted his personal goals. He added that he wants to “continue my evolution and help my teammates fight for our objectives.” Interestingly, Turé spent his formative years in the Sporting youth academy, adding another layer of connection between these two clubs as the new season begins.
