Xiaomi Unveils Redmi K Pad to Rival Apple’s iPad Mini

Xiaomi’s strategy to take on Apple’s iPad mini is unfolding with the reveal of the Redmi K Pad’s design. This flagship tablet from the Redmi brand, which falls under Xiaomi, boasts a compact 8.8-inch LCD screen. According to Lu Weibing, a Xiaomi executive, this size allows for easy one-handed use and greater portability compared to larger tablets like the Redmi Pad Pro, which features a 12.1-inch screen.

The Redmi K Pad is positioned as a direct competitor to the iPad mini, with a higher resolution screen and support for high refresh rates. It is also equipped with dual drivers for enhanced display performance.

In terms of processing power, the Redmi K Pad is set to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, a powerful and efficient option produced with 3-nanometer technology and capable of reaching speeds of up to 3.73 GHz. This is an upgrade from the Redmi K Pad Pro, which used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, produced with 4-nanometer technology and reaching speeds of up to 2.4 GHz.

Reports also suggest that the Redmi K Pad’s screen will have a 3K resolution and support a 165 Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth motion and vivid visuals. Additionally, it will come with a battery that supports 67W fast charging and Gamma Antenna technology for improved signal reception. However, specific details about these features have not been fully disclosed.

The expected price of the Redmi K Pad is around 4,000 yuan, and it is anticipated to launch alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra smartphone, which also features the Dimensity 9400+ chip.
