Key Changes in the Indian and Australian Teams
The fifth and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia has commenced in Sydney. India won the toss and chose to bat first, with several significant changes made to their playing eleven. Australia, trailing 1-2 after four matches, also made some key adjustments to their team.
Indian Team Changes
Indian head coach revealed that Akash Deep would not be able to participate in the Sydney Test due to back stiffness. Additionally, Rohit Sharma has been given rest and will not be playing in the Sydney Test. As a result, two major changes have been made to the Indian team. Shubman Gill has replaced Rohit Sharma, while Prasidh Krishna has taken Akash Deep’s place.
Australian Team Changes
Australia has also made a change to their team, with Beau Webster replacing Mitchell Marsh. This marks Webster’s debut in Test cricket against India.
