Whatsapp’s Limited-Time New Year’s Effects
Whatsapp has introduced special effects for the New Year’s celebrations, available from December 20th until January 3, 2025. These effects can be used to send animated and original greetings to friends and family.
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Effects
- AR Effects for Video Calls: Festive backgrounds, filters, and effects can be used to create a celebratory atmosphere during video calls.
- Animated Reactions: Responding to messages with specific emojis (🎊🥳🎉 🍾 🥂) triggers a confetti animation for both the sender and recipient.
- New Stickers: A variety of new stickers are available for users to express their greetings and messages.
Whatsapp’s 2024 Innovations
Whatsapp has also taken the opportunity to reflect on some of the key innovations introduced in 2024. These include simplifying the process of adding and managing contacts, increasing the capacity of video calls to 32 people, and introducing filters and backgrounds.
Additionally, Whatsapp channels are now easier to find, and voice messages can be shared with subscribers. New forms of expression have been added, including GIPHY stickers and the Custom Sticker Maker.
