Gunmen Strike Car One Complex in Canelones

Recent Incidents of Theft in Canelones Department

A brazen robbery occurred at an automotive business located at kilometer 188,500 of Route 11 in Santa Lucía. Two armed individuals, with their faces exposed, stormed into the establishment, overpowering the owner, his wife, and several clients who were present.

The thieves proceeded to ransack the car and the owners’ residence, making off with approximately 300,000 pesos and various other items. They attempted to steal a car that was for sale but were unable to start the vehicle. The perpetrators fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived in, heading in the direction of Santa Lucía.

Law enforcement officials are currently reviewing video surveillance footage from the area to identify the suspects. The case is being handled by personnel from Investigations and Zone 4 of the Canelones Police Headquarters.

Car One Complex Robbery

In a separate incident, three masked and gloved individuals robbed multiple businesses within the Car One complex in the Canelones department. The thieves targeted a restaurant, an optician, and a store selling computer and cellular supplies.

At the restaurant, the robbers made off with approximately 17,000 pesos. The optician was robbed of a substantial quantity of glasses, valued at around $40,000. The store selling computer and cellular supplies was also targeted, with the thieves stealing mobile phones and tablets.
