A Fatal Accident Occurs in Willow
An elderly individual, 80 years of age, met a tragic end due to electrocution at a rural establishment in the town of Willow, located in the department of Canelones. The incident occurred at kilometer 32,500 of Route 33.
Circumstances Surrounding the Incident
Prior to the arrival of the 6th section troops, the victim had ventured outdoors to transport animals to the field. While attempting to cross a fence, he was subjected to an electric shock that proved fatal.
Scene Investigation
Upon examining the scene of the accident, the Police discovered a power cable used to supply electricity to a semi-emergent well water extraction pump, as reported by the Canelones Headquarters.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Personnel from UTE were summoned to sever the electricity supply for safety reasons. An emergency team confirmed the death of the elderly man. The Toledo prosecutor, Luis Álvez, is overseeing the investigation, aiming to establish the causes behind the accident.
