The Supreme Court upheld the sex abuse conviction of a Carnival of Promises director

The man was convicted of violent bodily harm, particularly serious sexual abuse, and of promising retribution to minors in exchange for sexual acts. His defense filed an appeal at the time, which has now been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The appeal court’s verdict of May 2023 with a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months was therefore final. The prosecutor in charge of sex crimes is Mariana Alfaro.

The man was reported in August 2020 via the Instagram account “Varones Carnaval,” which contained the stories of several victims of sexual abuse and harassment. The defendant had already been brought to court in 2019 for sexual abuse.
