The TV series Magnum starring Tom Selleck was cult in the 1980s and part of pop culture. The private detective Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV solves his cases as a private detective in Hawaii and repeatedly engages in entertaining battles of words with the notoriously humorless and rather snobby Jonathan Higgins, the manager of the handsome property on which Magnum is allowed to live.
Magnum is supposed to look after the property and in return not only gets to live in it for free, but also drives around in a Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole. It was his company car, so to speak. You can now buy this Ferrari 308 GTS – as a Playmobil model.
The Playmobil set with the legendary TV series Ferrari now costs EUR 64.99 (RRP EUR 69.99) on Amazon. Of course, the red speedster doesn’t come alone, but Playmobil includes four figures: private detective Thomas Magnum, helicopter pilot TC, club owner Rick and of course Higgins, the stiff-necked real estate manager and constant nag.
Features of the model
The Ferrari model has opening headlights and an opening hood in the rear. The roof can be removed. The model car is made in a scale of approx. 1:17.
Playmobil describes the set as a collector’s model, but it should also be suitable for children aged five and over. However, young people are unlikely to be familiar with the Magnum series, so this Ferrari should primarily be aimed at adult collectors. Incidentally, information on the original can be found here at Ferrari.
