The governor of Balkh province of Afghanistan was killed in a suicide blast

Kabul: The governor of Balkh province, Dawood Muzamil, was killed in a suicide bombing.

According to the details, there has been a suicide explosion in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif in the Afghan province of Balkh, as a result of which 4 people including the governor of Balkh have died.

According to Afghan media, the explosion occurred in the governor’s office in the provincial capital, Mazar-i-Sharif. Balkh Police Command spokesman Mohammad Asif Waziri confirmed the explosion and said that the explosion occurred during a meeting in the governor’s office in which administrative matters were being considered.

The blast targeted the headquarters of the state governor’s administration, according to Al Arabiya, Dawood Muzamil was a key military leader in the Taliban and had close ties to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
