“A new era” for Márquez

“The wait is over. Welcome to the new era.” In this way, the new community that has launched Marc Márquez before the entrance of such an important year as an evolution of his fan club. After three seasons marked by the injury suffered by the ilerdense on July 19, 2020 in Jerez, the Honda rider seems to have left behind all physical problems and this season will end on top or bottom. He returns the eighth champion in its purest form and with two years of contract ahead with HRC, he will seek to continue expanding a story where he needs to be “close to the fans again”.

The new project is born under the banner ‘WE ARE 93’ (we are 93) and will be in charge of promoting the relationship of the pilot and his followers before “one of the most important seasons in Marc’s career”. The ilerdense needs to win and leave behind all the suffering of a few difficult years where he can go from considering retirement, to reach the top again. The statement from the agency that carries the eight-time champion’s communication stresses that it is a course in which Márquez needs his stalwarts “closer than ever” and with “the aim of keeping his followers close and united” a project was born that it is already a reality and will maintain a fairly similar structure to the one that was created in 2010 after his first World Championship in 125cc.

Marc’s first title was followed by seven more. The one in Moto2 in 2012 and the five in MotoGP (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) before beginning an ordeal that lasted until last year. “2022 was not a good year,” Márquez himself acknowledges in the statement, “but after all the work I have a lot of energy and a lot of confidence in the new season”. The illusions are completely renewed and are measured in the same way in which they were felt during all those years full of successes where they gained support that they need now more than ever: “If the fans have been through the hardest moments, now they I need close again to support me in this very important year.” It is clear that 2023 is marked in red. And never better said.
