Chelsea closes the door on Cristiano

We will have to wait to find out the new destiny of Cristiano Ronaldo (37 years old). After his abrupt departure from Manchester United, with more than half a year to go before the conclusion of his contract, the portuguese player is looking for a team. And in the last few hours the name of Chelsea has been on the list of suitors again, but as The newspaper The Telegraph has advanced and Diario AS has been able to confirm, the blues are not willing to face his signing.

Already in the summer, the Stamford Bridge team was associated with the Portuguese striker, who at the end of June made clear his intention to leave United. But, finally, the ‘7′ decided to stay in Manchester, unconvinced by the options that were presented to him, as Cristiano himself acknowledged during the exclusive interview with Piers Morgan, and the possibility of playing for Chelsea was left in the water due to the lack of interest from Thomas Tuchel, the coach in charge at that time.

However, and contrary to what many thought, the change of coach and the arrival of Graham Potter has not changed the vision of the blues in regards to a hypothetical incorporation of Cristiano. At Chelsea there is no debate, it doesn’t exist, and the future arrival of Christopher Nkunku leaves even fewer options for the Portuguese player.

“The offer of 300 million from Saudi Arabia is true. It was hard”

In the same interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano confirmed the offer from a Saudi team, which put 300 million euros on the table for taking over the ‘7’ for two seasons. The Madeira striker kept 250 million from that operation, and as he was in charge of explaining, knocking down the proposal “was hard”, even though an offer could continue on the table, as this newspaper also learned.

And all this with the World Cup on the horizon, with Portugal about to debut this Thursday against Ghana, at 5:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time), and with the departure of United still too recent… that’s why Cristiano focuses on the appointment in Qatar. “Now he is only going to be focused on the World Cup,” sources close to the player are in charge of emphasizing.
