“As a result of the efforts of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, today we are witnessing the release of Asadullah Haroon from Guantanamo Bay and his reunion with his family years later,” the spokesman said.

Zabihullah said that we would also like to thank our brother country Qatar for paving the way in this regard.

“We are in touch with a few countries where Afghans have been detained and efforts are underway for their early release,” Zabihullah said.
