Paris: A security guard guarding the Qatari embassy in the French capital Paris has been killed.
According to foreign media, the French prosecutor said that a fight took place outside the Qatari embassy in central Paris, in which a security guard guarding the embassy was killed.
Paris prosecutors say police have launched an investigation into the murder, and a man has been arrested at the scene.
He said nothing could be said about the death of the security guard, adding that it was not yet clear whether any weapon had been used in the killing.
The Qatari embassy condemned the killing and said that killing someone was “disgusting and unjustified”. “We are awaiting the outcome of the investigation into the incident,” he said.
On the other hand, the police said that no element of terrorism was found in the incident.
The French newspaper La Parisen says the 38-year-old is suffering from a mental illness and has been involved in attacks on police officers before.
