Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been appointed as the first Indian brand ambassador for French luxury brand Louis Vuitton.
The association with Deepika was revealed during a new bag campaign, and she appeared in a series of promotional photos alongside names like Emma Stone and Chinese actor Zhou Dongyu.
“After a strong association with the Maison… the award-winning actress embarks on an exciting new chapter in her journey with Louis Vuitton,” the fashion house said in a press release.
“If you’re 18 and just starting to make money, you don’t even bother to look in a Louis Vuitton store when you walk by because you know you’ll never be able to afford it,” says Deepika.
“I’m actually a very practical and pragmatic person, but I keep pinching myself because I can’t believe this is real,” she adds. “And it speaks to the kind of diversity I hope to see in the future.”
