Ketel Marte decides with a home run and Arizona has won 6 of 7

Ketel Marte hit a solo homer, Daulton Varsho and Christian Walker each had two hits and the Arizona Diamondbacks continued their hot streak with a 4-3 win over the limping Miami Marlins on Monday.

The Diamondbacks have won six of seven. The Marlins have lost eight of nine and lead the majors in losses by one run with 10.

After a poor start to the season, Marte broke a 3-3 tie with a 438-foot home run that hit the center-tier seats.

Kyle Nelson (1-0) got his first major league win with a scoreless inning in relief. Mark Melancon signed his sixth save.

The loss went to Miami starter Elieser Hernández, who allowed four runs, three of them earned, in 5 1/3 innings. The Venezuelan left the mound in the sixth after Marte’s home run.

For the Marlins, the Venezuelans Jesús Aguilar 4-1; Avisaíl García 4-2 with a run scored; Miguel Rojas 3-1. Cuban Jorge Soler 4-1.

For the Diamondbacks, Venezuelan David Peralta 2-0 with a run scored. The Dominican Ketel Marte 4-2 with a run scored; Geraldo Perdomo 2-0.
