Damascus: Military bus blast kills 13

A bomb blast near the northern city of Mosul has killed at least 13 Iraqi people and injured dozens more.

According to the state news agency, the incident took place in the Syrian capital when a bus full of officials was on its way to its destination.

Two explosive devices were planted in the bus. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center. The Syrian army’s engineering unit defused a third explosive device at the scene.

The bodies of 13 personnel killed in the blast and other injured have been shifted to the hospital for immediate medical treatment. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Video of the scene has been released by Syrian state media.

The Syrian army has called the blast a terrorist act.
