Shiba inu metaverse early access veiling officieel van start

2021 was, among other things, the year in which meme coins such as dogecoin (DOGE) and of course shiba-inu (SHIB) became wildly popular. The prices of such crypto coins were able to rise very quickly, only to plummet just as hard. Yet meme coins still hold a special place in the hearts of many an investor. However, 3 out of 4 SHIB investors are currently in the red.

SHIB investors

Of course, it came as no surprise that SHIB’s share price didn’t hold up during the entire crypto market went down. The current state of the price of the popular meme-coin obviously means that most SHIB investors have been in better shape than they are today.

Compared to the all time high, which was set by SHIB in October of last year, the price is under water by no less than 90%. In fact, only people who have already entered before the enormous pump in September of that year can therefore still speak of a profitable position.

Out data from Coinmarketcap turns out that a huge 76% of all SHIB investors are currently losing money! Only 15% is still in the green and 9% is about break evenso no profit or loss. It just goes to show that investing in meme coins like SHIB is not always a bed of roses.

Diamond hands

Close examination of on-chain data indicates that a majority of SHIB holders, namely 52%, have owned the token for more than a year, while 40% have been investors for less than 12 months. Only 8% are holders for less than a month. That shows that SHIB investors are willing to hold on for a long time, even if SHIB’s share price plummets.

That is also perhaps the strongest point of meme coins such as SHIB. The community that has grown up around such projects is often very strong, and confidence in the project remains high, even when we can definitely speak of a persistent crypto winter.
