75 percent of US retailers want to accept crypto as a means of payment within 2 years

The survey took place between December 3 and 16, 2021 and to arrive at these results, Deloitte and PayPal surveyed 2,000 key employees of US retailers. The retailers come from a diverse range of industries. Cosmetics, digital goods, electronics, fashion, food and much more. Small to medium-sized businesses are also planning to participate. 73 percent of retailers with a turnover of 10 to 100 million are currently investing 100,000 to 1 million dollars in the necessary infrastructure.

Consumers push retailers to adopt

The intent of so many retailers to accept crypto payments stems from consumers’ desire to pay with crypto. According to the survey, 64 percent of consumers currently have a high level of interest, while 32 percent have an average interest in crypto payments.

Nearly half of retailers expect their adoption of cryptocurrency payments to improve the customer experience. About the same percentage expect it to expand their customer base and 40 percent hope it gives them a reputation as a technology leader. A hopeful study by Deloitte and PayPal.
