4 Killed 10 Wounded in California Family Reunion Shooting

A targeted mass shooting at a family gathering in Stockton, California, left four people dead and 10 injured, prompting a swift law enforcement response to identify suspects.

The violence unfolded Saturday inside a banquet hall, where both children and adults were among the casualties. Officials from San Joaquin County indicated that initial information suggests the attack was specifically aimed at an individual or group.

Heather Brent, a spokesperson for San Joaquin County, called the incident “beyond comprehension.” She stressed that law enforcement’s top priority is to identify those responsible for the killings.

Authorities have not yet identified any suspects or made any arrests. The motive behind the shooting remains under active investigation.

Several injured victims were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately released by officials.

Stockton, a city with a population of approximately 320,000, is situated in central California, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) south of Sacramento.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office confirmed that the governor had been briefed on the “horrifying shooting.”
