180 -day preventive detention charged the 22 -year -old managing the car in which the author of the shooting in the diving was accused as co -author of a crime of homicide especially aggravated in a tentative degree and his preventive detention was arranged for 180 days, while the investigation continues.

A 22-year-old individual, taken into custody on Wednesday night following a police pursuit near kilometer 29 of interbalnearia, has been charged in connection with the shooting incident at the Diving establishment. The attack, which targeted a member of the “Los Colorados” narco band operating in Cerro Norte, has led to a complex investigation.

The young man, now facing charges as a co-author of a particularly aggravated homicide attempt, has been ordered to undergo preventive detention for 180 days while the investigation continues. Notably, he did not have a prior criminal record. The Prosecutor’s Office has compiled a range of evidence, including footage from public and private security cameras, which places the accused at the scene of the crime.

On Sunday, February 16, the accused was allegedly driving a white Onix, the vehicle from which the shooter escaped after attacking a Gray Hyundai. The Hyundai’s occupants, including Luis Alberto de Herrera, Rambla Armenia Alex Mattos, his partner Alexa Berón, and their son, suffered gunshot wounds. Alexa Berón was severely injured and required an extended stay in the CTI until her discharge.

The events unfolded rapidly, with the attacker initially attempting to flee on a high-displacement motorcycle. However, after being rammed by the Mattos vehicle, the attacker ran to the Onix, which was driven by the accused young man. The car used in the escape was later recovered by the police in the early hours of Monday, February 17, parked in the La Comercial neighborhood. The vehicle’s owner claimed it had been stolen, but this explanation did not convince the detectives, leading to his temporary arrest. He was later released due to lack of evidence.

In a related development, an 18-year-old girl was also taken into custody when she appeared at Section 17 of the Casavalle Unit for a procedure. Upon reviewing her data, the authorities discovered she was a person of interest and arrested her. It was suspected that she might have been in the White Onix at the time of the incident. After providing a statement, she was released.

The narco band “Los Colorados” is involved in a power and territory dispute with rival groups “Los Suárez” and “Los Albín,” adding a layer of complexity to the investigation. As the case continues to unfold, the authorities are working to piece together the events surrounding the shooting and the subsequent actions of those involved.
