Rajasthan Royals’ youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut at just 14 years old after Sanju Samson got injured.
He opened the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal and they put together an 85-run partnership.
Vaibhav hit 34 off 20 balls, including three sixes and two fours, before getting stumped off Heinrich Klaasen’s dropped catch turned into a quick stumping by Rishabh Pant.
The young cricketer got emotional after getting out and was seen wiping away tears.
Debutant’s Emotional Reaction
Fans took to social media to praise Vaibhav’s performance and comfort him after his dismissal.
One fan tweeted, “Don’t cry, boy! You did well. Many more will come, Inshallah.”
Another fan said, “Vaibhav Suryavanshi got emotional after he got out. Well played, young man!”
The match ended with Rajasthan Royals losing despite having a good start.
Thrilling Finish
Lucknow Super Giants had scored 180 runs in their 20 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen hitting 66 off 45 balls and Ayush Badoni scoring 50 off 34 balls.
Rajasthan Royals needed nine runs off the final over but could only manage six, with Avesh Khan bowling a tight last over.
Earlier, Avesh had taken two crucial wickets in the 18th over, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal (74) and Riyan Parag (39), to turn the game around.
