The entertainment world is reeling from a sudden, heartbreaking loss. Renowned Assamese singer and musician Zubeen Garg passed away Friday in Singapore. He was just 52 years old. Reports indicate the tragedy struck during a scuba diving accident.
The news sent shockwaves through the community. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, quickly stepped in. He’s actively working to bring Zubeen Garg’s body back home to India. The Chief Minister made it clear that he’s doing everything possible to ensure a swift return. He also promised to keep everyone updated as more information becomes available.
Chief Minister Sarma shared his efforts directly on his X account. He explained that he’s in constant communication with the High Commissioner of India in Singapore. Their goal is simple: coordinate the return of the beloved artist’s mortal remains as quickly as possible.
I am in constant touch with the High Commissioner of India H.E Dr Shilpak Ambule.
We are coordinating to ensure beloved Zubeen’s mortal remains return to Assam at the earliest. As soon as the process is firmed up, I will share an update. @HCI_Singapore
